I will be there competing in Super Quick, and maybe Pro Outlaw depending on setup consistency based on practice runs.
Car is in pieces as we speak, but should be done by tomorrow evening and dyno'd to play with everyone for Sunday morning. See you there! |

I was there. I was points champion last year for Super Quick. I knocked myself out first round. Dialed an 11.92 and ran an 11.908.
Timeslip breakdowns: I was actually surprisd how consistent I got the car running my 17" drag radials. I was unable to get my new 28" Hoosiers mounted in time (BTW, keep an eye out for my new ultimate budget slick/skinny setup) so I was forced to go back to the driveshaft twisting radials. I was also launching on very light antilag, maybe one or two pops (~5-7psi) so as to not completely blow off the tires at the launch. In addition, I turned the boost up to 18psi to make up for my weaker lauches in case I needed to chase someone down in eliminations. Here's my timeslip breakdowns: 1st Round Qualifier: R/T --- .164 60' --- 1.949 1/8 --- 7.806 MPH --- 96.29 1/4 ---11.898 MPH --- 121.13 2nd Qualifier: R/T --- .271 60' --- 1.945 1/8 --- 7.731 MPH --- 96.75 1/4 --- 11.843 MPH --- 121.22 3rd Qualifier: R/T --- .349 60' --- 2.053 1/8 --- 7.931 MPH --- 95.26 1/4 --- 12.021 MPH --- 121.81 1st Round Eliminations: Dial-in --- 11.92 R/T --- .203 60' --- 1.966 1/8 --- 7.830 MPH --- 95.89 1/4 --- 11.908 MPH --- 122.28 Notes: I knew it was going to be a tough first round as my opponent was running 11.4X's all day and dialed in an 11.95. In hindsight, I should have matched his dial-in and stayed a hair ahead of him as I figured I was going to tree him. Due to his slight head start, I was having difficult catching him as his 60' times were better than mine so I was slamming the gears to catch him. Just as I caught him at the 1000' mark, he got off the gas and I went around and I broke out by 2 thousandths of a second! It was a shame to be knocked out first round but there's still next month. I saw the video of the carnage you made of your drivetrain. As much as it sucks, it was a pretty awesome video. I can't wait to see your car at the BRL dyno days. Are you going to make it to the RSD @ WIR on the 7th? If so we should set somthing up. |

Tim definitely had some unfortunately carnage. It was pretty bad ass actually! He's always on the ball though, and I'm sure will be back up and running shortly.

Yeah, the car will be back up shortly; I had to do ALOT of changes to get it upgraded.
I am in the process of doing all the things below: New DSS axles, Ralliart rear LSD, Custom rear diff housing w/4th mount, solid rear subframe and diff housing bushings, tubular control arms for all 3 lowers on each side in the rears, custom brake setup for the rears w/ hydraulic staging brake and hopefuly line-lock setup, new rear subframe, custom transfer case and driveshaft, solid carrier bushings, custom fuel cell, quad fuel pump install, etc. The biggest slow-down currently is the driveshaft, and finding a company that will actually produce a custom 2-piece unit that is 3.5" diameter with a Moser 1 1/8" 29-spline input yoke w/1350 joints, and a custom rear flange and carrier bearing setup. The transfer case is essentially a one-off; and uses a substantially larger output shaft, and requires bit of welding and alot of machinework for everything to fit. The rear control arms are all going to be chromoly w/ ChroMo spherical bearings, again; all essentially one-off's. The brakes are completely custom and will be a one-off as well. I am also swapping out the front rotors and hats for lighter/newer units. Going to upgrade to GT billet hats and scalloped rotors for the front as well. I still need to install the quad fuel pump setup, and am mainly waiting for the custom fuel cell to be completed by a friend before installing the pump assembly. The list of things to do is extremely long, and I just hope to make another event this year with the car in some way, shape, or form. Thanks guys for the support! See you all next month either way! |
